THANK YOU to EVERY-ONE who participated!
I would like to share with you some of the programs and services that we provide to our members. When AMILE Advocacy Service Inc. was first established we had only 5 members, at present we have 33 members. With support from the LeasePlan Western Bulldogs, we have been able to take members of AMILE to some home games of the LeasePlan Western Bulldogs, have had guest speakers including Mayor of Wyndham Cr. Kim McAliney and most recently, Heidi Everitt from the Mental Health Music Network. Heidi was also featured on a special hosted by Andrew Denton called: ‘Angels and Demons’. President of AMILE, Janelle Reeves and her husband Ian have also been interviewed for a DVD being put together by SANE Australia for Families and Carers. Some of our Ladies have also been working on a joint art project to be displayed at our Open Day in October for our Pink Slipper Appeal and a number of members have had stories printed in the local media which is great for trying to reduce all that stigma & prejudice associated with mental illness.
